Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Kai Shift ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

There were many lenses in use. From the cheapest to the most expensive. Now there are 50 \ 1.4 but before that it was 1.8 Impressions were only positive. Yes, a little noisier, aperture a little less . but these are such trifles. If you are the owner of a crop camera like d450-550, this is the lens that should be in addition to the whale. It is on it that you can make not bad portraits on the crop (85 mm is too long on the crop) On account of which is better 1.4 or 1.8: You can put 1.4 on a good xD or xxD carcass. On xxxD I think that 1.8 is better. The difference in the picture is minimal. Both are sharp from about 2.8 Some write: Noisy, plastic. So what? Are you a spy? Or do you need a shock-resistant lens? These don't happen. They are all glass. Vacuum Cleaner - I have dust in all my lenses. That at 24-70, 70-200 2.8, 17-40 f\4, etc. never affected the quality, so you shouldn't bother. They also write that it is sharp only from 2.8 Yes, it is. Same with 24-70 f\2.8 sharp only with f\4. I am sure that in 50mm 1.2 "ringing" sharpness appears only with 2.5 For the price of $100, you get glass with superior performance. Such minor flaws to this glass are absolutely forgivable. What cannot be said about other glasses costing 10 or more times more.

Pros
  • Extreme aperture and picture quality for ultra-small money.
Cons
  • I assure you there are none. There are only high expectations.
