I ordered these to use with my finest china (with black design on the rim) and also for everyday meals. I love the ruffled look of the edges and the sophisticated pattern. The larger size is suitable for lasagne, casseroles or to roast a few pieces of chicken or other main dishes. I think this would work well for cakes too, but I haven't tried it yet so I don't know how easy it will be to remove the slices. I didn't buy them for that reason, so I don't mind. I'm always checking the reviews and ratings here (thanks Revane) and noticed that some reviewers have mentioned that the smaller one is "too small" - it's really small but there are many uses for it, for example Example of sauces, celery sticks or carrots. Cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes or cranberry sauce. I love that it goes with a larger dish and I can even get another set when planning meals that require that many servings. Yes I would order them again - the pattern is great and the pieces look more expensive than they were. by price. They're elegant enough to look good with the fine china you don't use that often, and versatile enough to be fun and interesting pieces with the "other" utensils you use every day.
