I needed a 12 gauge breakout cord to hold my power tools securely so after reviewing them online I decided to make my own. Guyana at a local hardware store and ordered these plugs from Revain to attach to. I was pleasantly surprised by their firm feel when they arrived. They're not as big as the Leviton fork I bought a while back to replace the fork on my 75-foot 14-gauge breakout cable, but they still feel good. breeze. All you need is a utility knife to cleanly trim the outer jacket of the cable, wire strippers to cut the three inner wires of the cable, and a Phillips screwdriver to loosen and then tighten the screws in the connectors. This pull cord plugs into a 15 amp outdoor outlet. Since I don't want to use my power tools in the rain or when wet, waterproofing is not a priority for me. Photos of my end result are attached.
