I use it when I shampoo my hair - my hair is 3c-4a. It's perfect after a long day at the beach or a workout. The bristles are a mixture of soft and hard rubber - they bend under slight pressure. For curly hair, I personally recommend doing four braids and then massaging your scalp to keep your hair from getting tangled.
