I would highly recommend this window film. I used it to fix a sun problem in my kitchen. This was the hottest part of my apartment and was exposed to direct sunlight and heat for most of the day. Gluing is easier than gluing. I didn't have an application solution so I just mixed up some Meyer's castile soap in a bottle and used a scraper I bought at IKEA. I used two different window films for my New York apartment and it made a world of difference in my kitchen. In the winter I can take it off to get some natural warmth, but in the summer (now) it has an immediate effect on the temperature. You can see the gap between the frame and the shadow to see the difference between the window and the slide. If you're worried about edges you don't need a professional, just the patience to align and trim the edges as needed and a friend to help you with the window tint. The bubbles and creases you see are on the protective film, not the tint itself. I didn't care about the looks so left it as I didn't have an extra pair of hands to hold it while I was applying the tint tint applied. walking around in a birthday suit and not worrying about casual eye contact with your neighbors.
