Call me I'm impressed. I honestly didn't expect these strips to be that accurate. Thought I'd sacrifice some accuracy for convenience, but so far they've been the best of both worlds, accurate and easy to use! also much more expensive strips and I found them perfect in every way! I have a micro plant freshwater aquarium with fish and cherry shrimp. In the past I've typically done 20% water changes every week or two, but now that I have both plants and shrimp I like to be more selective when doing my water changes. In addition, Neocaridina shrimp do not like frequent water changes. I try to keep my nitrate levels at 25ppm, which is great for plants and pretty low for shrimp. This allows me to increase the number of water changes to avoid stress on the shrimp and also to keep the fish and plants happy. I used to spend about 5 minutes doing a waterdrop/tube test just for nitrates. Now with these strips I can do the same test in 1 minute which does 5 other tests at the same time. In fact, it would take 10-15 minutes and 6 vials of water to do the entire test on that one strip using a conventional kit. Now I can do the same test groups in 1 minute and don't have to wash the tubes. Super practical, simple and useful. Just read the instructions, they list the 4 tests below to be read in exactly 15 seconds. The first 2 tests, namely nitrites and nitrates, take 1 minute to show the full results. In addition, the measured values are displayed in mg/l, which are converted directly into PPM as with other tests. So 25 mg/l = 25 ppm if you want to compare the results with other test kits. Overall I am very happy with this test kit and would highly recommend it to other aquarists looking for an accurate and easy way to test water quality.
