Good for everyday cooking, but for me it really shines when it comes to baking. Because flour can weigh so differently when you pick it up and sift it into a volumetric counter, this scale has really helped me bake more even treats. I also found it very useful for making new sauces and replaying them later. If I remember to measure the weight of the ingredients when adding them, there is no problem. Since the scale fits on one of my cork coasters, I can place the pan directly on it to measure how much water I've reduced, how much garlic, apricot jam, or eggs I've actually added, etc.*, but , most accurately. Don't use this for science experiments unless you're willing to compensate for slightly different weights depending on how accurately you center your weight on the scale.
