Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Plustek PS186 Desktop Document Scanner with Auto Document Feeder (ADF) - Compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10 by Chad Jeffries

Works and works fast, but sacrifices quality

The installation required more steps than described in the documentation, so it took about 30 minutes to install the drivers and software to get the scanner working and the scan results satisfactory. I mainly used it for photos, but it works better with documents. Photos are twisted strangely on output even though the scanner doesn't twist them. Contrast is poor (very dark) even at the best quality. And about 5% of the images are cut off, sometimes it seems that the image is dark and it is decided that there is actually no image there. I think I sacrificed quality when I went for a cheaper printer. It works well enough, but I wouldn't use digital copies for anything other than rediscovering the original that I want to look at.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
