My daughter is very petite (52 lbs, 49 inches) and usually wears a size 7-8 although she is almost 10. However, I had to pay attention to reviews because the size 8 I bought her was too big. Also being small for her age I was hesitant to buy her a 10 which would be very difficult to roll up due to the zippers on the legs. shaking her in and couldn't do it and my friend assured me that once she got wet it would be almost impossible to get it out of her. I had to return it. The fabric was very thick and probably kept her warm.
