I like the size of the dumpster. It works well with standard plastic grocery bags as a liner. I assume the grooved base will work fine on carpeted floors, but the trash can still slides on the back mat. The mat installed at the bottom of the trash can must be "sticky" to hook onto the plastic bottom mat. I'm working on ideas to solve the slippage problem. UPDATE: I put two cups of clean sandpit sand in a ziplock bag. Then I tuck that pocket into another zipper. I used black tape to tape the pockets to the bottom of the bin and used black tape to make the "fake bottom". Now it stands still and doesn't tip over. I use grocery bags as the liner and use a giant elastic band around the outside of the top. A lot of extra effort, but now I have a really nice trash can.
