Great fan for the price. All the oscillating pedestal fans I've ever owned have been Laskos and none of them have let me down. This 18 inch fan moves a lot of air even at low speed, but if you need hurricane blades around your house, high speed can help. Of course, it will sound like a turboprop is next to your head. but you have plenty of airflow (a low setting produces a totally forgivable hum, which is nice if you like white noise while you sleep). We've never had any problems. If it makes excessive noise or the blade seems to shake while you work, you may just need to tighten the cap screw like I did.
