Works pretty well! on lightbulbs

this is unethical and Amazon should not allow this practice. Figuring out which smart bulbs to buy is a big decision because you're likely to stick with them/brand for a long time! So I did some research on what I thought was the best/cheapest brand and decided sengled was "good enough". I chose the wireless option without a hub, so everything is connected directly to my router. I currently have 10 lamps connected to my router. I sold my lights on sale for 20.99. Installation went very well! It took me about 20 minutes to set up 10 lightbulbs. I downloaded the application and connected the lightbulb. Each bulb is added and it takes 30 seconds to a minute for each bulb to be fully connected. I had to reset some lightbulbs and all you have to do is turn the light on and off 5 times very quickly. It worked, but I could see how annoying it can be for some people when you accidentally reset, or if you just want to reset one bulb, you'll reset everything connected to the switch. I wish you could connect multiple bulbs at once, but you have to do it one at a time and it's actually easier to connect one at a time. My router is definitely a top-of-the-line router, so I wasn't expecting any connection issues, but I still find them a bit patchy. 99% of the time they work the way I want them to, but sometimes the light doesn't immediately do what I'm asking for unless I turn it on and off or wait a while. That's something I'll have to wait and see how they work. Another thing I noticed is that you experience a slight delay when you flip the switch when the lights think they're about to turn on. I think they turn on, connect to the router and then decide what color and whether to turn on or not. It takes about a quarter of a second or so, but it's not instantaneous like smart lightbulbs. When multiple lightbulbs are connected to the same switch, each lightbulb works independently, and it can be strange to have very small differences in how each lightbulb turns on. Although the shutdown is instantaneous. The function of the pears is quite reliable. You have an almost infinite number of colors, 100 brightness options from 1% to 100%. Playing with colors and brightness is a lot of fun. Each color can have a different brightness. You can group lightbulbs in rooms, set timers, set different color combinations with scenes, wake up and sleep modes. The only thing I want to use is different scenes. I was hoping to see an option to change the color of the rainbow just to show off the lightbulbs or have fun with them, but I couldn't find that option. I hope Sengled will add this option to the app at some point. I don't have much experience with other smart bulbs, but I'm very happy with my purchase. They're fun, pretty easy to set up, and generally work pretty well even with 10 bulbs plugged in in 3 different rooms. If you have Wi-Fi bulbs, I don't think it's possible to connect to your Google or Alexa home. If you want to do this, you need a hub. It will still be a long time before people actually save electricity with incandescent lamps. It's more fun than saving money, but the app shows you how much electricity each bulb used, and I found it to be a pretty fun addition to the app. My previous lightbulbs felt very hot, hot enough to burn my fingers. They warm up at the bottom but are basically room temperature anywhere on the flask.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
