In short, this cable works great with 2018 15" MacBook Pro and NEC PA271W. have trouble waking up from sleep; But from what I've been able to determine by reading various support forums, this is more of a problem with OS X/MacOS and third-party monitors than a cable fault. Detail: I bought this cable after stumbling in the wrong direction - trying to find a USB-C to DVI adapter. I was convinced I needed a DVI adapter since the NEC PA271W doesn't support HDMI. All of the USB-C to DVI adapters and cables I've found only support 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz. Finally, I looked at my monitor's specs and rotated it to see the available ports. Once I realized it supported DisplayPort, I searched for a USB-C to DisplayPort cable and settled on Cable Matters USB-C to DisplayPort cables. Connecting to a monitor is a little tricky due to the limited space around the connection port. but the cable works fine. Please note that I'm having trouble with the monitor not waking up from sleep mode; However, this issue seems to be common on 2016-2018 MacBook Pros with external monitors regardless of the connection.
