MacBook Pro with 4K Flickering Display

I was so happy to use this. I bought a brand new 4K monitor for my MacBook Pro. Connecting is very easy. The problems started less than an hour after connecting. The monitor went off for a split second and then came back on. This will happen more regularly after a while until the monitor eventually becomes unusable. I called the monitor manufacturer and got a replacement. I had the same problem with the new monitor. Finally, I bought a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter from Revain Basics. It works…

Pros
  • 8K UHD DisplayPort - USB-C video resolution support for ultra high definition resolutions up to 8K 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz; USB-C cable to display port Supports multi-streaming (MST) for daisy-chaining multiple monitors. The USBC to DisplayPort cable also supports 7.1 high-fidelity surround sound.
Cons
  • Good but not great

Not sure if the cable quality is poor or if the length of the cable affects the signal quality. The monitor does not always recognize the signal from the MacBook through this cable. I tried many settings and many different on/off combinations/sequences but nothing was reliable. It basically boiled down to turning the monitor on and off and randomly detecting a signal. I know the monitor worked fine even with an old MacBook Air, but at the time it was using the monitor's VGA input. Now connect…

WORKS BEAUTIFULLY!

This cable was simple and effective. Please read as this may save you a headache. My setup is as follows: Thunderbolt 3 (USB C) laptop connected to a CalDigit TS3+ docking station. From the dock I am connected to a 27" monitor via a DP-DP cable (no problem). I also have a second 27" monitor that was connected to the dock's TB3 port via the 'TB3 to miniDP port' dongle. This was my problem area as the monitor that was plugged into this dongle (regardless of whether I switched monitors or not) was

Works with MacBook Pro 15 " 2018 and NEC PA271W; Sleep/Wake issues

In short, this cable works great with 2018 15" MacBook Pro and NEC PA271W. have trouble waking up from sleep; But from what I've been able to determine by reading various support forums, this is more of a problem with OS X/MacOS and third-party monitors than a cable fault. Detail: I bought this cable after stumbling in the wrong direction - trying to find a USB-C to DVI adapter. I was convinced I needed a DVI adapter since the NEC PA271W doesn't support HDMI. All of the USB-C to DVI adapters…

I'm using mine to connect a Dell U2713HM to a .

I use mine to connect a Dell U2713HM to a 2016 MacBook Pro. It works as expected, although it took a lot longer to get to this state than I expected. After some research I've found that this particular monitor (and possibly some other Dell monitors) can be finicky if you don't follow the steps in the correct order during initial setup. My advice if you have one of these monitors is to turn off the monitor completely first. Disable it. Press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds. Then plug…
