Review on πŸ”Œ VIAIR 90P Portable Compressor (93), Black - Powerful and Convenient Air Compressor for On-the-Go Needs by William Dean

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what I needed: Overkill

I can't put air on or off my caravan tires. Insufficient distance between housing and brake drum. A robust, reliable air compressor is a must for me. I have a very weak 12 volt compressor from a large company whose name I will not name but whose initials are CH. CH took so long to inflate the trailer tires to the 65 pounds I needed that my plan was to inflate enough to limp to a real air compressor. Forget using the CH in the tire inflation camp, there's never enough time for that, plus the CH always sounded like it was dying. To test my VIAIR, I first put on my Camry hybrid tires. The battery is in the trunk but the cable and hose go to the front wheels. No problem, it's a lot easier than hooking up an air compressor. For the actual test, I deflated one of my ST225/75R15 trailer tires. I connected the compressor to my 2, 100% charged trailer batteries. It took only 6.5 minutes to bring the VIAIR compressor gauge to 65 lbs. My pencil gauge read about 60 so I set the compressor gauge to 70 just to be sure. VIAIR got hot, but it didn't smell or diminish my confidence that it could finish the job. According to my DVM, the domestic batteries were almost fully charged. So I think VIAIR is ready for the road, tire pressure is no longer an issue.
