Same situation as genuine HP belt replacement. After changing the belt, the printer needs to be calibrated. This only takes a few minutes and the process can be started from the printer's paper menu. Be sure to load a 36" roll or large sheet of paper (for the 42" model). Reload the printed template into the printer with dots - you need to rotate the printed sheet 90 degrees counterclockwise. In the paper menu, start scanning the calibrated printout. Once this is done you can print. The belt works just as well as the original. The exchange takes 1-2 hours depending on your ability. There is a video on YouTube that explains the process. To work you need a set of Torx screwdrivers. Be sure to clean the old belt from dirt on the engine pulley. Also use the included idler pulley to replace the stock one. To lock the idler spring in the down position, simply push the tab under the pulley until it clicks into the down position. To increase the tension, use a small flathead screwdriver to loosen the plastic clip holding the spring - there are two tabs on either side of the spring that snap into place.
