This belt is made from high quality materials and should last as long, if not longer than an OEM belt. Installation was very easy by following the instructions that came with the belt and watching a step by step LPS Computer video I found on YouTube (just search for an HP Designjet 500 belt replacement). I have no hesitation in recommending this product and all other quality products sold by LPS Computer.

The belt itself was of good quality and fitted perfectly. The product arrived with no documentation, not even a link to the online manual. Reading previous reviews I knew it was a YouTube video and was able to find an uninstall and replace demo online. Take a look at the video. or twice to the end before attempting a replacement. I bought this ribbon 4 months ago to replace a broken ribbon. In the time since the belt was replaced the printer has been used very infrequently and the belt has developed "bulges" or spots that are thicker than the others causing the carriage to rattle as the rib rides over the belt drive sprocket . There is a suspicion that I did not receive the LPS belt. Be careful buyer, I will order a new one directly on the LPS website.

After reading the instructions and watching some videos I was able to get the belt to work with a Designjet 500PS+HPGL2 42" card. The difference between this belt and the OEM belts shown and discussed is that this belt has teeth all around. The OEM belt doesn't do this and is meant to be a way to true the machine. Fits great, works great, got the plotter working after watching a YouTube video on installation. The quality of the belt probably isn't OEM level, but it's pretty decent and you can't beat the price. I still use this plotter for light work. I recommend if you don't consume very heavily and can't afford the cost of the original belt.
