Having used other USB3 flash drives and FireWire 800 drives, this is the fastest external drive I have ever owned. It made copying files to other devices faster than using my wifi, and my wife has also used it to transfer large transcription files between systems. She also said I can't get it back because it's faster than her other external drives for transfer. The drive case is durable and comes with a rubber/silicone sleeve to absorb drops. It should easily withstand everyday use. There is a blue LED to indicate whether it is on or not and whether there is any activity. I had to erase and reformat it for exFat as it is NTFS formatted to partition on OS X. This works flawlessly between OS X and Windows 10.
