They were definitely used straight out of the box although someone must have gone through a lot to give the impression that they haven't used them before sending them back. The sticker was replaced well and the cables tried to rewind although there was a huge ball inside which the previous owner simply put in the box which took about 4-5 minutes to disassemble. They also put clear protective stickers on the front, but they have been ripped off. If it wasn't for that I would have given it a much higher rating. That's a pretty good price for speakers here, since the cheapest base pair you can find is a $20 base pair at Walmart or Best Buy. The sound quality is decent, although admittedly I'm not an audiophile I wouldn't say they come close to Bose quality or anything, but for budget speakers they're pretty good. Easy to set up and works right out of the box.
