Works well but instructions are missing a pretty important point. If using extensions, remove a piece of plastic from each corner of the gate. The picture-only instructions suggest this, but gives the impression that something needs to be unscrewed, but there is nothing to unscrew. I've built a lot of furniture and I'm pretty good at vague instructions, but I was stumped until I turned to YouTube. There are plastic inserts that need to be held and not twisted. I almost broke one of these, so be careful if you think you'll need them again, but they're not needed in expansions (only if you're using a gate). The gate is strong enough for my needs but flexible. You can bend the metal bars a bit and the entire gate will flex at the extension joints (would be much sturdier with metal joints instead of plastic joints and ones that go in every piece, not just 2 inches). So if you have a big dog that lashes out at him, I'm not sure how he's going to hold up. Mine to keep the little one out of the kitchen (and dog food so he can eat in peace) and also confine dogs if small so it's strong enough for my purposes. I used all the parts and it barely creaked into the hole which is about 48.5 inches at the bottom (with baseboards).
