Just what we needed to extend our Wi-Fi network

I used to buy a Netgear extender only to return it because I wasn't looking for an 'other' Wi-Fi network was looking to connect to when I went to another room in the house. After a little research I came across this mesh device. It looked exactly what we needed to get a stronger signal in the second floor room, which is on the opposite side of the house from the router (FYI, the house is 3,000 square feet). I didn't plan on spending more than $100 at the time, so I put it on my wish list. When I saw it was $75 on Cyber Monday I couldn't pass it up. Installation is easy. Connect, wait, connect to the router via WPS, wait. Then connect it between where you want a stronger signal and your router. It will even let you know when you need to move closer to the router. One thing that confused me a bit was that the instructions say to double connect to your router if you have 5GHz WiFi. I found that it connects to your 5GHz network the first time and to your 2.5GHz network the second time. After a factory reset and simple pairing, I was once connected to a 5Ghz network. I mounted this on the inside wall of a room where there was virtually no reception even on the 2.5GHz network. The light was green, so I knew it was a strong enough signal. Lightning fast, of course, like I was right next to the router itself. We'll see if it stands the test of time, but I'm thrilled. We have a TV in this room that hasn't been used much because we're broadcasting and now we can make full use of it. Plus it arrived the day after I ordered it, gotta love it.
