I am a radio amateur and I repair a lot of electronics. I'm in the process of building an HF 9:1 balancer for use with an end-fed antenna. I'll test it with resistors and a VNA to see if the step-down inductor is working properly. Alligator test leads are ideal for this type of testing. These test leads disappointed me. While I like that they are soldered to the wire rather than just crimped, there were a few annoying downsides I found in using them. First, the insulating jacket on the terminal is loose and slipping. When I squeeze the clip to open it tends to slip and twist in my fingers. My other test probes don't. Second, the jaws on the clips tend to slide sideways, giving a "crossbite" (see photo - it's a bit blurry, but you can still see it). Apparently the axes aren't accurate enough to prevent this. If you're okay with the two points above, they will probably work for you.
