Ideal for the Whirlpool Gold Series; bad packaging

Would give 5 stars if the packaging was better. Was in a large flat box, really too big for the item. He had a piece of styrofoam with no more seeds on it. It dangled and dangled in a large box. But it didn't look damaged, and the electrodes weren't sticking out of the box, as some reviewers report. Installation: First, DISCONNECT POWER TO YOUR SWITCH! Don't even think about starting this until the power to the furnace is off. When it is off, the oven light will not come on and the digital display should be dark. I then removed the bottom panel (a few screws) to access the old element that was burned out on the back corner. Then unscrew the 2 fixing points of the element (in front and then the metal plate at the back). Then disconnect the plugs of the electrode cables that are connected to the element on the back of the stove. This required 2 people as we were concerned that these wire electrodes would fall back into the holes and be impossible to remove. You can use tape if you don't have help. Then simply insert the new plugs into the electrode sleeves and push them in as far as they will go. Then slide up the metal plate on the element and screw tight, then screw on the front bracket. Before we replaced the sump cover, we turned on the switch/power and checked that it was at 400 degrees. And so it was. Then we replaced the oil pan cover and that's it! There are also many videos on YouTube. We saved $223! We know a mechanic came to us and said there would be a charge for a new item and installation. Luckily the hardware store said the items had been ordered for a month! So we ordered here and are very satisfied!
