I originally purchased this PSU for a mid-range PC built from the ground up. It didn't have to be crazy; just the i5-8400 and Nvidia RTX 2060, along with the fans that came with the case I bought, so 650W seemed like enough headroom. Then at the last second I changed my mind and bought an RTX 2080 instead and after the i5-8400 became a bottleneck I upgraded to an i7-9700k which overclocked quickly to 5GHz on all 8 cores. For those of you following, the 2080 recommends a PSU of at least 650W. Mine is overclocked and at full power (2050MHz) with fan speed maxed out draws about 285 watts. My overclocked i7-9700k draws about 175W at full power. Putting it all together I get 460W for the CPU and GPU alone, which doesn't leave much room for efficiency losses, motherboard, CPU cooler, 3.5" HDD or my seven 120-140mm. High Speed Case/CPU Fan. It all seemed like too much, but this Corsair TX650m got the better of me! If I had to do it again I'd probably go with the 850 watt model just in case, but the TX650m definitely exceeded my expectations. Can't comment on durability as this is new to me and I have no idea what the noise level is as I have many other fans that are significantly louder, but I would highly recommend it to anyone with a similar configuration.
