Yes, you can change batteries! I just changed two watches!

There is nothing I don't like about this watch! Easy to read, fits a medium sized woman's hand, keeps time well. When the batteries died the first time, I immediately ordered a new one. I changed the batteries on both watches today. Tedious work but not too difficult. It has two batteries. The larger lies on top of the smaller. The more light it gives off when the button is pressed, the less it actually controls the watch. Take a tiny screwdriver, often sold in an eyeglass repair kit, and remove the four screws on the back. Inside you'll see a CR 1220 coin cell battery set in a thin metal bracket. I used my small screwdriver to pry the battery out by pushing towards the strap. The metal will lift a bit with little effort and you may need to lift a few tabs slightly and that's fine. Simply fold them back once the new battery is in place. Once the larger battery is removed you will see the smaller 377/376 battery underneath. It can also be lifted and removed with a small screwdriver. Replace the smaller battery, and then insert the larger battery into the metal bracket. It's tricky, but doable with a little effort. Check if it ticks. Replace the back panel, add four screws. Made! As I write this, I'm thinking that the large battery powering the backlight might not even have been a bad thing since I rarely use the backlight. You can check this with a battery tester. You'll find as soon as you replace the smaller battery, the clock will start ticking. Buy and enjoy!
