This bird light works well and I plan on keeping it. However, if I had known it didn't have a switch - I would have thought it a pretty simple thing for a light - I certainly wouldn't have bought it. A small note card included in the package (apparently an afterthought I suspect, based on customer complaints) instructs the user to purchase a timer for the lamp. Also, the hint card warns the user not to plug in or unplug the adapter, otherwise the adapter will be broken. Due to the fact that I have to plug in the light (under the table) I will be on my hands and knees every morning and evening until I have a timer switch. A lamp timer will fix this problem, but using a timer is not how I want to use this light. I wanted to be able to control it manually every day as I didn't want the light to turn on and off by itself. I am very disappointed with this oversight and, even worse, that the product does not mention in the description that this light does not have a main switch. --------------- 2/8/2020 - Edited for your information: They have since added a mention in the product description that there is no on/off switch.
