Review on 🚴 Premium Silver SHIMANO Tiagra Front Hub HB-4600 (36H) for Superior Cycling Performance by Shawn Price

Looks like a good hub

Haven't bolted it to the wheel yet so no long term review yet. I inspected the hub and was happy to see 11 bearing balls per side instead of the usual 10. That "should" be better in my opinion. This bushing had the most grease of about 12 new hubs (F&R) I bought last year. They have also been adjusted best for bearing play, although I think they can still be a bit tight if the QR is clamped. You should always check the lubrication and play around before using a new hub. About $2-3 more than the previous front hubs I've bought. I think the extra bearings are worth the price. Despite being a "road hub" the OLD is still 100mm, same as mountain bike, hybrid etc. I have no idea how this hub compares to the much more expensive Shimano hubs but seems to me that this is a very good meat and potato casing for those of us on a tighter budget.

Pros
  • Sporty
Cons
  • Not bad
