Review on πŸ”§ Precision Soldering Made Easy with SainSmart TS80P Adjustable Temperature Soldering Iron by Gabriel Elliott

Have fun working with this soldering iron

I'm still amazed at how compact this iron is compared to my workstation temperature controlled iron. Now I only use this iron. The advantage of using it offline is that it's incredibly useful to be able to work on an ESP8266-based landscape lighting project and fix things on the spot. Only warning: this iron is not powered by unicorn farts. You need the right power supply to get the most out of it, so a quality USB-C transformer is required. If you want to be portable, you need to make sure the power adapter fits. I'm using a RAVPower PSU with a QC connector, the hardware runs at 9V and that seems enough to get and maintain the desired temperature (310C).

Pros
  • More Convenient: TS80P features a brand new tip lock that offers the best grip and light pressure to release the soldering tip for a quick replacement.
Cons
  • Damaged
