Description of 🔧 Precision Soldering Made Easy with SainSmart TS80P Adjustable Temperature Soldering Iron

Upgraded Version: TS80P is the upgrade version of TS80 Portable Soldering Iron. It is powered by USB Type-C interface and PD2.0/QC3.0 standard input, which can be powered by charging plugs, power banks, and mobile power supplies that comply with the PD2.0 (12V 3A)/QC3.0 (9V 2A) protocol. Faster Heating: The output power of TS80P has been increased from 18W to 36W max. It can heat up in the only 8s from room temperature to 300°C (572°F), which is 10s faster than TS80. It’s equipped with an OLED screen, you can monitor the status of the soldering iron at any time. Smart & Safe: With a built-in STM32 chip, TS80P can smartly control the rise and fall of tip temperature, and features sleep, automatic power-off, safety protection, and other modes. The code application layer is open source; you can develop firmware for the soldering iron freely as needed. More Convenient: TS80P features a brand new easy-push tip fastener, which provides the best holding experience and an easy push to loosen the soldering tip for quick replacement. Take-and-Go: TS80P has a simple, lightweight body that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It’s completely portable and suits your pockets. You can take it anywhere you want and use it while powered by a power bank.

Have fun working with this soldering iron

I'm still amazed at how compact this iron is compared to my workstation temperature controlled iron. Now I only use this iron. The advantage of using it offline is that it's incredibly useful to be able to work on an ESP8266-based landscape lighting project and fix things on the spot. Only warning: this iron is not powered by unicorn farts. You need the right power supply to get the most out of it, so a quality USB-C transformer is required. If you want to be portable, you need to make sure the

Pros
  • More Convenient: TS80P features a brand new tip lock that offers the best grip and light pressure to release the soldering tip for a quick replacement.
Cons
  • Damaged

This soldering iron did not come with a charger when you received it. I had a cell phone charger with the same plug. I plugged it in and it got hot very quickly. I tinned the iron and put it aside for the next time you need a soldering iron. Yesterday I went to the soldering iron. I plugged it into the same charger and outlet. The soldering iron's display lit up, but did not heat up. I tried to find instructions for this soldering iron, it's not there. I will contact the seller and see if they…

Pros
  • . Pickup: The TS80P has a simple, lightweight design that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It is fully portable and fits in your pockets. You can carry and use it anywhere when powered by external battery.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

The firmware is too complicated for this

If I hadn't seen DIY YouTubers using this successfully I would have thought it was a scam product. When it arrived I found that a firmware update was required. The manual tells you to go to the manufacturer's product page, where there is no link or indication of how to find the firmware file you should download (it's also a Chinese company, so if you don't like broken English , you can do it hard). Eventually they discovered that there is a completely different site for their forums (almost…

Pros
  • Smart and Safe: With the built-in STM32 chip, the TS80P can intelligently control the temperature rise and fall of the tip, and also has sleep mode, auto power off, security protection and other modes. The application code layer is open source; You can freely develop the soldering iron firmware as you need.
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
