Wow! It's effective!

My Standard Poodle learned as a puppy that his barking gets people to pet him. Fast forward to adulthood and he's barking to get the attention of people passing my car. He's a big dog; Most people don't realize that he's kind when he needs attention. The last thing I want is for my dog to scare anyone. I've tried every trick in my toolbox to stop this behavior. But effective learning requires consistency, and it's impossible to be consistent if the problem only occurs when I'm driving. I bought this collar out of desperation. After just one use, he suddenly understands what I mean when I say quietly. I was able to visit friends from our cars (wearing a mask and two meters apart) with a quiet dog. For this collar to work you need to put it directly on his voice box and make sure the collar is tight enough. . If the collar doesn't beep at the first bark (you will hear it), the collar is too loose. Once you have properly adjusted the collar, you must teach your dog how to control the collar. The easiest way to do this is to find someone to help you create a situation where your dog usually barks. Stay close to him and when he starts barking give the command "silence". The collar will beep on the first two barks and then vibrate on the third. This is usually enough to stop barking. When he stops, say "quiet!" and reward him with a treat. Like I said, it only took my Standard Poodle one training session to figure it out. Interestingly, the "silence" signal is now more effective even when he's not wearing a collar, which tells me he never got the word. For me, this collar was worth every penny.
