Review on πŸ”’ Rok Hardware 25 Pack Soft Close Damper for Cabinet Doors | Compact & Polished Nickel | Hinge SCD103 by Lee Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

let's make noise! My kitchen is too quiet.

The kitchen was recently remodeled, including the paint cabinets. Anyone who has ever painted a closet knows how much time and effort it takes. With this new coat of paint, I definitely don't want the paint peeling off a slammed closet door. I was originally looking for these little round glue on bumpers when I came across this piece of hardware. I never knew about it before. At €2 a piece I think it's relatively cheap. I no longer worry about someone slamming my closet and ruining my drawing efforts. But more importantly, it eliminates the annoying sound of doors slamming in my house. I've attached a video so you can see how effective it is. Notice that I also added a sticky damper in the top corner. Hardware dampens every slamming or closing door mechanism. However, when the door reaches the end, it makes a tiny rattle/vibration. It's still better than the annoying popping noise and can be ignored. I added a sticky damper (also from Rok) in the corner and the sound was relatively eliminated. Another small issue is that some of this hardware makes a noise when the door is slammed if the knob isn't fully adjusted. When the door is opened, the part that touches the door is pulled out, and when the door is closed, it pushes that part back in before the damping mechanism activates, making a faint clicking sound. very satisfied with the product. It's plastic and light but looks good. I give 4.5 stars. Remember to use only with self-closing hinges too.
