This is a much better heater than those cheap fan heaters. The beauty of this heater is that you can choose between power levels. I believe you can choose 600w, 900w or 1500w so you don't have to overload your electrics when using it. Obviously 600W doesn't get as hot as 1500W, but in many cases a setting of 600W or 900W is more than enough to keep heating the unit once it gets hot. This is also more even heating and works very much like the forced water heater coils used with the main heating system. The device gets physically warm, so you need it somewhere where no objects are too close and you don't put anything on top of it. . Also, do not let children play with it or touch it when it is in use. It is equipped with a thermostat to control the device and as soon as the room gets warm, the device turns on to maintain the room temperature. What I really like is that I can set it to 600w or 900w and not have to worry about the switch running at the same time in a room with lots of other electronics while those cheap fan heaters only run at 1500 watts and tilt to trip the circuit breaker. Most homes use 15 or 20 amp switches and a 1500 watt heater will only have one switch fairly close to maximum. Connect something else and you end up at the switch box.
