I have been using another mini blender (MB Mini) for about 6 years and it stopped working without warning. I was about to order another one when I saw the KOIOS Personal Blender. I received it today and there is no comparison. The first 850W versus 200W alone puts KOIOS in a different class and means it can do a lot more. The ultra-flat blade uses all this power to grind coffee beans and nuts as well as to chop, grate, puree and chop. The "Standard" set of 6 blades is exponentially better than the Mini and much more effective at making frozen fruit and grain (flaxseed) smoothies. KOIOS gets the job done with a few hand movements instead of on-off. The blender unit is a little larger than my old one, but not at all out of place on the kitchen counter. It's only 1.2 inches larger than the MB Mini. It has four small suction cup feet that work well as a security feature. Probably more is needed when chopping than when blending a smoothie. And as said, the device works on a push-pulse basis, so your hand never leaves the top of the cup. There were a few comments about the noise. Can't tell how it compares to other mini blenders than my previous one - the noise isn't noticeably louder despite being 4x stronger. Two 17 ounce cups are 2 ounces more than I'm used to and are perfect for my needs. I make a high-protein breakfast smoothie every day and drink it right away, so the extra "travel mug" accessories are useless to me, but they undoubtedly make the KOIOS kit a very good set for others. I'm pleasantly surprised by the obvious quality and 2 year warranty at half the price of comparable devices.
