I visit thrift stores quite often. It's amazing what you see computer monitors. I deviate from pure VGA monitors. Instead I'm looking for the ones that have DVI. I try to bring my Raspberry Pi computer and DVI to HDMI adapter to test monitors before I buy them. All sales are final and non-refundable. This DVI to HDMI adapter works great. But always remember that DVI is HD, but there is no sound in DVI, only HDMI. And DVI-HDMI still produces no sound. No big deal, just plug in a separate audio cable or multiple PC speakers. On average, I only pay $5-$10 for a DVI-HD monitor at a thrift store. This DVI to HDMI adapter works great, great picture, high resolution. I am very glad that I received two adapters with the purchase. If I had any complaints. The monitor in the picture has the DVI pointing down, so the adapter is not a problem. However, if you point the DVI connector towards the back of the monitor, it will protrude slightly. Relatively small problem.
