I've been using merv 8 for over a year. No problem. It fits well enough. I recently upgraded to merv 7 to reduce the load on my air conditioner. It went wrong. My oven immediately rejected it. I started getting flame onset errors and draw alerts that blocked my oven for 3 hours each. I immediately replaced the air filters with old filters. (Used for 2 months and got the dirty merv 8 out of the trash) After replacing merv 7 with merv 8 everything worked fine again. Returning Merv 7 without problems Why did this happen? I do not understand. Definitely I will continue to buy Merv 8 ---- I bought another Merv 8 and what I got was ABSOLUTELY NOT what I used last year. The top filter is a regular Merv 8 filter, the bottom filter was mailed to me. I'll send it back immediately! What is wrong with this company!
