Review on 📶 TP Link EAP225 DAccès 1350Mbps Gigabit: High-Speed and Reliable Wireless Connectivity by Mike Modesto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic device after I stopped reading the manual.

This is a fantastic device once I stop reading the instructions. The instructions require you to download the controller software, but this is windows only (once you can find it on the site) and I have a Mac. I downloaded some Mac software but it kept crashing unexpectedly. At one point I was convinced that I needed to buy additional controller hardware. After I started downloading the Windows VM image to then download the controller software, another reviewer (thanks) pointed out that the controller software only sees the IP address and all the configuration over the internet at the IP address of the access point. This greatly simplified my task. I asked the DHCP server for the device's IP address (the only TP-Link device on the client list), logged in using the default credentials (which required a web search), and was on my way to the race. When I realized that the instructions created more problems than solutions, everything worked out. This would be a 5 star product if only they had left out the installation instructions. I give it one star for its misleading instructions. My existing router/access point is on one side of a large house, creating dead zones on other floors at the opposite end of the house. I installed this hotspot on the side of a bookshelf in my home office at the opposite end of the house, and now my house is filled with Wi-Fi on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. In fact, my phone prefers this signal over the (already very good) signal from an existing router/access point in every room except those where the existing router/access point is located. If you have dead zones where the ethernet port is, buy this, plug it in, mount it, then throw away the instructions. You will be satisfied with the purchase.
