The device is made entirely of stainless steel, so cleaning is a breeze. Because the water falls directly to the bottom of the burner, the surface of the burner will stain slightly during cooking. Grill surface in the Hibachi Steakhouse: damp cloth. Because it's made of stainless steel, anything that doesn't come off right away can be removed with a scratch pad. I usually cook 7 pieces at a time, but I only get 2 pieces. All with great success. The manufacturer must enable the alarm for this device. This is a ridiculous oversight as it will cost you a dime. However, I like not having to deal with installing a steamer on the stovetop.
