Review on PoochieBells Classic Collection: The Original Dog Potty Training Doorbell - Made in USA! by Shelley Nims

When we received our Great Dane puppy we were told he was already broken and barking to go away. Apparently they meant that he would bark from his cage, but since we leave our dogs inside all day when I'm at home, we found that we had a bit of a problem. Our pup came to the front door and just stood there quietly. When I was in the kitchen or dressing the baby I didn't see him so he started having front door accidents. (FYI, Great Dane puppies have WAY more accidents than most other puppies ;) We already had one of these doorbells, but since our Doxies never used it, we removed it. Haven't found it yet so I needed this new one fast. In less than 24 hours, our new pup has already figured that bell out. It is excellent! He calls properly when he needs to go out. the louder the bells ring, the more desperate he is! The downside is that he has now also learned to abuse the system and ring the bell when he wants to go out and just sit in the sun or go for a walk. so we have to be very consistent and aware of that. If he rings we'll take him out, but if he tries to just lie down we'll bring him in and let him come out and sit on the patio. We're doing this in the hope that he will stop the habit of ringing in response to this type of reaction and only use the bells for potty training.
