The product is well made and should last for years. When researching how to make matcha, I saw that this tool is used to scoop the right amount of tea for a cup, and I ordered one—not just for the proportions, but for the "ceremonial authenticity." However, once I started making matcha on a regular basis, I found that I could scoop just the right amount of tea using other tools I already had in the kitchen (which were often on hand). While this scoop works as it should, I'm not entirely sure if it's necessary to get a good "cup" match. However, it makes the presentation pleasant when serving guests.
