Installed on my boat helm and works well so far. It's only been a week. You need basic electrical wiring knowledge. You need to assemble the cables yourself. It is possible to connect each side separately to a 12V source or together in parallel. It comes with connectors and 2 screws. no wire Wire if you know what you're doing. The two supplied screws are not strong enough. They broke when I used my screwdriver on them. I used my own stainless steel screws (much better anyway). You need to drill three holes in the solid plate. One for wiring and two for screws. I love it and it was easy for me to install but I do this kind of thing often
