I took this with me on my girlfriend's trip to Greece. It was very easy to use and loud enough to definitely wake you up or get your attention if someone tries to enter without your knowledge. Definitely recommended for solo travelers! Funny story: I put this item in my carry-on luggage. On the way home I think I kicked the switch to the "ON" position because it accidentally tripped during my flight. Because it was in my personal item "under the seat" and surrounded by many things, the sound was muffled but audible to others. I wore headphones so I couldn't hear anything. But I did notice the flight attendant and seatmates looking around and opening trash cans to find the sound. We couldn't pinpoint the exact location of the noise, but we knew it was in our area. It never occurred to me that my bag could be a cause for concern, but as soon as I picked it up I understood! :/ In short, remove the batteries when you pack it in your luggage!
