First of all the filter fits perfectly, it fits well and tightly. In fact, the filter weighs 3-4 times more than a standard air filter. This means it likely contains a fairly significant amount of charcoal. Hopefully the charcoal will improve the air quality in my car, especially during the summer fire season when smoke is prevalent in the air. Activated carbon/activated carbon filters neutralize VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Activated carbon/activated carbon filters are used for water filtration and also in HVAC or home air purifiers, so it's a proven technology. I just hope it doesn't impede the activated carbon and good quality airflow much more than a standard filter. I checked local auto parts stores before buying and it seems that the cheapest filters (non-carbon) are around $11-$12. And carbon costs 18-25 dollars. So for this price a bargain!
