Good laptop for everyday use, setup was a pain

I bought this laptop with Ryzen 5500U processor for my kids for home school. It was delivered 2 weeks ahead of schedule (thanks Revane!) It's a good touchscreen laptop. It's an all-metal body and the lid is a bit difficult to open, but it feels solid enough to withstand the screen flip for a long time. This laptop features a backlit keyboard, which is comfortable when working in a dark environment. The initial setup resulted in a blue screen before it even got to the home screen for the first time, which messed everything up. Restarting from the blue screen eventually got everything loading but noticed that everything was running sluggishly and slowly. Then he had two Windows updates that failed to install and I couldn't fix them. I ended up deleting all partitions, including the recovery partitions, and booting Windows 10 from scratch, which took a lot less time than struggling through update issues the night before. With a completely clean install, this computer works exactly as it should. The only thing that didn't come back from my clean install was MacAfee Antivirus, which I don't use anyway. The boot time is less than 30 seconds, the fingerprint scanner works perfectly. The pen works well, the magnetic pen holder feels comfortable. It comes with 8 gigabytes of DDR4 3200 memory, 4 gigabytes soldered and 4 gigabytes via an upgradeable memory module. I haven't upgraded the memory yet, but will do so as needed over time. I have a previous model of Asus laptops with a Ryzen 7 4700U processor and this Ryzen 5 laptop, while not as fast, is more than adequate for average users and most students. Although I'm tech savvy and do work on PC from time to time, the initial setup issue I encountered can be very frustrating for those who just need something to work with. I gave 4 stars due to initial setup issues. Still, I would buy this laptop again.
