The size and form factor looked good, and with so many positive reviews from so many identical products with different labels, I thought it was worth the risk. It seems that they would still be fun for a child if they knew nothing else and were strong enough. I was hoping to give these to my kid as a second pair for hiking so we don't have to share them and one person misses out on the promotion but they are so much worse than my 10x25 Bushnell H20 I just bought it's not even fun. And it's not even high-end binoculars. Merely the center (approx. 10% of the field) is at least somewhat transparent. And they stink so bad it's like putting your nose on the tire. Even at $10 it feels like wasted money and a potentially stunning nature viewing experience that disappoints. I had to follow my intuition and spend the extra $20 on a few more Bushnells. Get what you pay for, although we love the temptation to strike a deal.
