Difficult to replace. If you remove the old one, it will splash you with disgusting water with all impurities filtered out. But that's not a problem with this product as such. But when I installed a new one, it leaks. I tried and tried but couldn't mount it cleanly. I ended up throwing that one away and using the next one, and the next one worked fine. It doesn't tell you to run the water, but you have to run a lot of water before the water tastes good. I'm guessing it could take half an hour of running water, but maybe less.
