I had an old but still useful Core2Duo system that I combined with a recently purchased FireTV to create an all in one entertainment solution. Since the TV itself only had COAX, RCA and HDMI, I needed something to convert my computer's VGA output to HDMI and transfer audio from the PC. It comes with all the necessary cables, is USB powered and produces a crisp picture at maximum resolution on my TV. At first the picture looked a little blurry and the text was hard to read and I wanted to blame the adapter, but I quickly discovered that image enhancement, i.e. excessive text sharpening, was enabled by default in the FireTV. After disabling these features, my desktop looked normal.
