This cable was used to connect a computer's VGA output to a monitor with only HDMI or DP inputs. This was for a dual monitor configuration and one monitor was already using the computer's single DP output. So I was able to use the VGA output with this cable. A picture is worth a thousand words. Having a picture that shows this is "VGA-to-HDMI" and NOT "HDMI-VGA" makes it clear in ANY language how this product works.
