I had to split my HD digital cable line. It was Super Bowl time and I wanted to install two 50+ HDTVs in my living room. I know it seems like an exaggeration, but I knew that with over 50 guests crammed into my common room, there was no way we could fit around a TV. I borrowed my friend's HDTV and brought a cable box downstairs from my bedroom. All I needed was a way to split the digital cable line off the wall between the two cable boxes I had downstairs. That's where this splitter came in handy. I already had a few feet of extra coax cable. So I used to insert it into the splitter and then at the other end use the coax cables that came with the cable boxes, everything worked fine, the picture looked normal, there were no complaints from the observers.
