Review on Rug Doctor Commercial Cleaning Machine by Charles Barney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Superb cleaning from a near perfect machine

Disclaimer: I got this from Costco not Revain. However, this is the best place to leave feedback. I used to have a Hoover All-Terrain Max Extract Dual-V. Did the job removing pet stains and odors. But it only lasted a year, and then they refused to spray the soap solution. This is not a permanent entity. I decided to spend more and settled on this unit and the Bissell Big Green. I chose this one because of the Carpet Research Institute's platinum rating: I studied it and they put the cleaner through a complex series of independent tests and actually weighed and photographed the finished carpet to ensure the machine removed 90% of the dirt. A motorized upholstery tool for stairs and upholstery also seemed like a great idea. The machine arrived in a large box but I was disappointed that the manual, the RugDoctor website and even the contents of the box showed a quick time to market as it is a new machine. They included a stain remover instead of carpet shampoo and the link to the tutorial videos resulted in a Page Not Found error. When I called customer service I didn't know they make this model of car. However, speaking to the manager clarified and convinced me that Rug Doctor wanted to release a quality product. When I opened the box I saw a well packaged and solid machine. There is no assembly, everything is ready. I used it to clean a few pets and clean the carpet in two bedrooms and the living room, and then switched to using the motorized tool to clean the sofa and two chairs in the living room and the chairs in my dining room . The machine does it. Well done. Using a platinum-rated Pure Power Pet solution, the machine quickly cleaned the bedrooms, leaving the carpet damp but not wet, and drying it within hours (in Colorado!). The carpets in the rooms were drying but one of them had been on the carpet for a couple of weeks and needed a spot treatment with an animal odor removal solution before being cleaned again with the carpet doctor and then that was gone too. Carpets were fluffy, not sticky or crunchy. On the furniture, the machine removed enough dirt from dust, pet tallow, spilled food, etc. to form a dark, thick goo that ended up down the toilet. The furniture dries in a few hours, becomes lighter, without spots and stains. My only issue was overspray from the furniture/stair tool hitting the floor and escaping the cushions, but having a rag handy prevented problems. Stubborn stains were pre-treated with laundry stain remover (Oxyclean) and disappeared after using the machine. including red wine stains on white upholstery. On both furniture and carpets, the suction power is strong and removes most of the water. Cleaning is very easy: the dirty water tank is easy to remove and has a large lid on the side so that dirty water can be easily poured out. Cleaning seems less of a hassle than a vacuum, which requires disassembling and removing dog hair and carpet fibers from brushes, bins and hoses: it seems this machine doesn't collect as much. work - Sturdy construction - Easy to remove containers for clean and dirty water - Easy filling and emptying of containers thanks to large openings - Strong suction leaves material without excess water - Folding handle allows for easy storage - Upholstery tool does its job very well - Very few loose parts and includes a handy pouch for upholstery tools and hoses. - Very simple operation - Easy to roll when not cleaning by pulling the handle, manoeuvrable on large wheels - Price competitive with other professional pairs. Cleanser. There were several faults with new products that would have caused me to return the machine as it had not been tried and tested. CONS: - The car is heavy. Cleaning a room is a workout as it resists movement due to the weight and suction power that sticks to the carpet. I was sweaty and tired. I do not recommend this for a small person or someone who is very out of shape. - Support is still weak due to issues with new product launches. - The machine is noisy. Wear earplugs! - The upholstery tool is big and long, so it requires a lot of strength to use it for a long time. - The upholstery tool is sprayed, although I'm not sure how it could be designed so that it doesn't exist (every machine I've used has solved this problem, although it might be possible to close the sprayer so that it only applies water to the same area that the tool cleaned.) - The solution tank is difficult to remove when the handle of the machine is upright . It's easy to bypass by swinging or lowering the handle, but it can be improved. - The washer on the cover of the dirty water tank comes off, you need to pay attention to it. - It is not easy to empty the dirt water tank completely because the opening is on the side. I have to rinse several times to wash away the dirt. - It would be nice to have a place to store the lids of the containers so they can dry between uses without losing the lids. - Solutions are more or less odorless, so some people may not think they are work, but they do. After what happened to my other car, I dare not use my beloved Woolite 2X Oxy Pet in it. - Decisions are expensive. They say you can use the grocery store's rental equipment, but the results won't be platinum rated if you do. I'm not sure if I'll notice a difference. - Doesn't clean under furniture - but all professional machines have this problem.
