Very stable large stool with a surface made of a material similar to the same silicone rubber coating found on kitchen tools, scissors, etc. The item was wider than expected, which suggests the size of a perch, so there is enough room to turn around and avoid risk of falling. Out of the box I was initially concerned that it would be too light and prone to movement or get tipsy, but not at all. It turned out to be very stable and just the right height. Unexpectedly very, very happy with this comfortable and very functional chair. Originally bought for an oddly steep step from the porch to the doorstep, it ended up being used for a high bed - the job of making the bed just got a lot easier with the extra height! So let's buy a second stool and see how it holds up outdoors in New England weather.
